Spring Clean and Leaning Out | 4-day Juicing and Soup Review

Amanda Custo August 31, 2017

It’s that time of year again…bikini bodies are made in winter. Time for a Spring Clean!

I tried out the 4-day winter warmer detox from Nurish Juice Co., in collaboration with Fit Chef and here is the full lowdown:

Delivery: My juices arrived, as promised (someone actually phoned me from Nourish Juice co to confirm day and time of delivery) in a cardboard box. The 16 juices and 12 soups were all still frozen and I immediately transferred them to my freezer to keep them from thawing. There are also 6 bags of green tea included in the hamper. That night I took out my 4 juices and and 3 soups for the following day.

Day 1: Here we go! I am positive and excited to start the detox!

Starting the day with boiled water and freshly squeezed lemon - surprising what a difference it makes to not start the day with coffee…it’s enormous what an impact it makes on your psyche to make the “right nutritional decision” first thing in the morning…like it is setting the tone for the entire day.

Exercise time from 8-9am. Sweat by Kayla app (BBG Week 22)

First juice - the Soother. - tastes amazing! Never expected a cleanse to teste this good!

First soup at 10:30am (Butternut) - must be the best butternut soup I’ve ever tasted. Feeling happy!

There is a juice and soup to be drunk every 2 - 2.5 hours and I am not feeling hungry at all. In between I am also having cups of green tea and water with lemon.

The most difficult part of the day was not ordering coffee at a Doppio Zero meeting with clients. Ordered green tea instead - feeling victorious!

The Beetroot and Tomato soups are also good (butternut is my favourite though) and surprisingly filling.

Day 2: I wake up at 4:00am with the worst headache every....figure that it can only be caffeine deprivation so I get up and have some water. I don't manage to sleep again and decide to call it quits at 5:30am.

Warm water with lemon to start the day and then yesterday's routine repeated.

At midday I start to feel very energetic and positive! Feel good hormones coursing!

Still not feeling hungry.

Day 3: This morning I wake up with a craving for bacon and eggs...resisting the urge to gobble the kids's while prepping breakfast, haha.
As soon as I have my lemon water, though, I feel better. Can't wait for my 10:30am soup though!

Have meetings again in the day and have to resist the urge to order coffee or cappuccino.

Made it through Day 3!

Day 4: Last day of the detox! Feeling so good and like I could do this forever!
I used to be a vegan for 6 years after finishing school and I remember it being a breeze, after the first month of getting used to...

After this detox I am definitely determined to eat less meat and animal products. It is such an eye opener into how much food is really necessary for your body to feel full and it definitely taught me to listen to my body instead of just eating up a big plate of food (no matter how healthy) for eating's sake.

about me

My first fashion "moment" happened when I was 12. It involved a blazer with multicolored neon stripes, published in a local fashion magazine. I knew that I just HAD TO HAVE IT. After much nagging my mom ordered it for me with her credit card - something she never did. The jacket arrived about a month later (packaged in the most beautiful tissue papered box). It was the start of a love affair. So I started this blog. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it!

Early morning coffee... how amazing was the sunrise this morning?! Every time I see the sun rising my problems seem small and far away...have a great Saturday!!
It's a Floral Friday - and of course, to finish it up, just had to add some pleats ;) 🌸💐🌸
Hat switch up... why not?
